Angela is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and received her Master’s from Lesley University in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in expressive arts therapy. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings doing case management, crisis intervention, psychiatric day treatment, and therapy for individuals, groups, and families. She is experienced in providing services to people struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, substance abuse and addiction, dual-diagnoses, trauma and stressor related disorders, obsessive compulsive traits, borderline personality traits, eating disorders, and other mental health symptoms.

 

Angela uses a person-centered, holistic-integrative approach to psychotherapy and practices elements of various treatment styles, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Expressive Arts Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-focused therapy, Jungian Psychotherapy, Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other skills-based methods. She places emphasis on providing treatment that is trauma-informed, culturally competent and LGBTQIA+ affirming. She is a strong advocate for antiracist systemic change and destigmatizing mental illness. 

 

Angela believes in fostering therapeutic relationships that are empathic, nonjudgmental, and attuned to the needs of the client in the present moment. She honors the courage and resiliency it takes for people to show up for themselves and embrace suffering bravely in search of their truth.
