Christine Aufiero, LMHC, ATR-BC
Christine received her master’s degree in mental health counseling with a specialization in art therapy from Lesley University. She is a licensed mental health counselor and a board certified art therapist with experience working with children, adolescents and adults in both individual and group settings including outpatient, partial hospitalization programs and dual diagnosis programs. Christine utilizes humor and a warm, open approach to create a safe, non-judgmental space for healing and expression.
As an art therapist Christine incorporates a variety of creative methods as a means of expression and self-exploration alongside other foundational techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care and psychodynamic theory. Christine believes that anyone can be creative regardless of age or experience with art or other expressive interventions.
In addition to utilizing art, Christine also believes in fostering coping and grounding skills to help with symptom management and emotional regulation to improve overall daily functioning. Christine has experiences in areas of PTSD, developmental trauma, anxiety, self-esteem issues, depression, mood disorders, stress management, life transitions and relationship issues.
