Larissa is a licensed mental health counselor with a master’s degree in education, specializing in mental illness and addictions counseling from Cambridge College. She has worked in various mental health settings including outpatient, inpatient, residential and in the department of corrections.
Larissa is passionate about helping people change their internal narratives and believes in supporting people in the process of healing through therapy. She enjoys working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, suicidality, addictions, grief, relationship issues, divorce, immigrant experiences and religious/spiritual backgrounds.
Using a blend of approaches, Larissa draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), positive psychology, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing. She believes in creating a safe place with her clients and meeting them where they are at. Along with compassion and empathic listening, Larissa strives to help her clients feel heard, valued and understood.
Larissa can provide therapy in English and Portuguese.
