Therapy Intern

she/her/hers

Jennifer is an intern and student at Lesley University who will earn her master's degree in 2024 in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy. She earned a master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica in 2011 and her teaching credential at California State University, Northridge in 2005. In addition, she holds a certificate in Deeper Dating, which guides her approach to understanding dating and intimacy.

Jennifer's first career was as a dedicated educator included sixteen years of teaching, mentoring and counseling children and young adults. These experiences paved the way for her to embark on a new career journey and fuse together her two passions: psychology and the arts. Prior to Looking Glass Counseling, Jennifer worked with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and ran small psychoeducational groups to teach professional skills, emotion regulation and creative expression.

Jennifer is a warm, empathetic and practical-minded therapist. She is passionate about empowering her clients to live full, meaningful lives that are in alignment with their values. She also understands the mind-body-spirit connection and believes that to heal trauma, we must turn to the wisdom of the body. Jennifer specializes in working with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, neurodivergence and high sensitivity. The modalities that guide Jennifer’s work include expressive arts therapy, person-centered therapy, narrative therapy and existential therapy.

Because she is an intern, Jennifer cannot accept insurance for therapy sessions. We offer a payment of $40/session to work with an intern, but unfortunately this is not reimbursable by insurance.
