My Nguyen Nguyen, LMHC

My is a licensed mental health counselor, specializing in work related to intimate partner violence and multiculturalism. My received her master's degree in counseling from Boston College, where she continues to contribute to publications and add to her now seven years of experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence. My's social justice values inform her intersectional work, particularly around systemic oppression and for clients identifying with minority backgrounds.

My believes in empowering clients through theories like Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT), and positive and self psychology, while also challenging clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts through theories like trauma informed-CBT and motivational interviewing. She has worked with various populations, from students in pre-K to high schools, to late adults with severe and persistent mental illness and addiction in community mental health. Through these experiences, My has worked significantly with trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and more in addition to her areas of specialization.
