Alanah Hodges
Therapy Intern
they/them/theirs & she/her/hers
Alanah is a second year Masters in Social Work candidate at Boston University. They have
experience working in public schools, early childhood education, and non-profits that led them to pursuing a career helping people solve problems. She is a compassionate and driven
transgender woman who believes that all her clients have the knowledge and ability within
themselves to handle life’s greatest stressors. Alanah views her therapeutic work as a tool for
helping clients understand more about themselves, their connections and the world around
them through humor, empathy and creativity.
Alanah works with people experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions and inner
work regarding gender and sexuality and gender dysphoria. They have experience working with a broad range of age groups and have been a queer mental health advocate and transgender activist for six years. Alanah always seeks to uplift and center her clients’ experiences by focusing on their current reality and goals, maintaining a path towards a hopeful and bright future.
The modalities that inform Alanah’s work with clients are CBT, DBT and the liberation health
model.
Because she is an intern, Alanah cannot accept insurance for therapy sessions. We offer a payment of $40/session to work with an intern, but unfortunately this is not reimbursable by insurance.
