Awareness of Autism, particularly among adults who were not recognized as Autistic in childhood, is growing quickly. There is significant need these days for support and guidance among individuals exploring whether they might be Autistic and among therapists supporting clients who have begun this journey. But, many therapists have received little, if any, training on Autism in their education process and have not been well prepared to meet this growing need.

This training will prepare therapists to identify masked Autistic clients on their caseload through a neurodiversity paradigm and facilitate discussion of Autistic identity with clients. The training will prepare therapists to build affirming relationships with Autistic clients, develop and work towards neurodiversity affirming goals, and support clients navigating formal and self diagnosis.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will:

  • feel prepared to identify masked Autistic clients on their caseload

  • understand DSM diagnostic criteria for Autism as well as neurodiversity paradigm for recognizing and understanding Autism
