Alex Norby, LMHC, ATR-BC
Alex is a Board-certified art therapist (ATR-BC) and licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). She earned her master's degree in art therapy from George Washington University, focusing on neurobiology and trauma treatment, and is an adjunct faculty member of Lesley University. She has over 5 years' experience working with trauma in schools and community-based settings within a social justice framework while advocating to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and addiction.
Alex's approach is trauma-informed and strengths-based. She believes healing comes from a grounded, trusting, and non-judgmental relationship that explores holistic wellness. Alex integrates art therapy, mindfulness, and a somatic approach to her work when appropriate. She is committed to compassionately witnessing and guiding her clients toward their full potential of well-being while they find healing, acceptance, growth, and empowerment.
Alex specializes in treating trauma, depression and mood disorders, anxiety, LGBTQ issues, wellness issues including stress management and reduction, eating disorders and body image issues, and grief and loss.
